Today our Prime Minister visited Sikkim.
It was a promise he had made some days ago when the earthquake happened and true to his word he kept it.
I felt overwhelmed with a deep sense gratitude although one would say it would be his duty. One does not expect the obvious from anyone anymore.
Sikkim is not a vote bank to be reckoned. It has exactly one seat in the parliament, and the area where the disaster has occured is extremely sparsely populated. The Prime Minister thought it important enough to visit it.Thank God we don't have a cut and dried politician on the top whose line of thought and priorities would I guess have been different.
